Carteret County has trusted their smiles to Dr. David Robertson, DDS since 1985. The team at our Morehead City practice is proud to provide unbeatable dental services in an open, welcoming environment. In addition to our world-class family dentistry services, we also offer cosmetic dentistry. Our services will brighten your smile without breaking the bank!

Teeth Whitening

Sparkling white teeth never go out of style. If you’re looking to make your smile more vibrant, a great place to start is having your teeth professionally whitened. Although there are lots of over-the-counter whitening options on the market these days – including toothpaste, adhesive strips, and even blue light technology – there’s no way to be sure that they’ll give you the brightness you’re looking for. Choosing to whiten your teeth with supervision from dental healthcare professionals is a safer, smarter way to get guaranteed results.

We offer two different at-home whitening options to fit your needs and your budget:

  • Go Whitening Kit: Our most affordable choice. These self-administered kits include a moldable tray preloaded with whitening gel. After 10 treatments, your teeth will be noticeably whiter.
  • Phillips Zoom NiteWhite: Offers more predictable results. While this choice is more expensive, it includes in-office monitoring and a reusable custom whitening tray. After 2 to 4 weeks, your teeth will be 2-3 shades lighter.

Porcelain Veneers

When you’re ready to make more dramatic changes to your smile, veneers may be right for you. Getting your veneers is an investment, but in return, they’ll give you a total smile makeover. Generally, your veneers will involve six to eight teeth, but it can be up to 12. Our porcelain veneers are thin, durable, and will fit in nicely with your natural teeth!

The process takes a few visits to our office. Dr. Robertson and his team will be available to answer questions every step of the way. Your veneers will be custom-made to fit you perfectly, and although they don’t last forever, they can last for 10 or more years with good dental hygiene habits and regular checkups.

Cosmetic Bonding

If you’re not ready to invest in veneers, cosmetic dental bonding is a budget-friendly alternative! During the bonding procedure, we will apply a tooth-colored composite resin to your natural teeth, which will then be hardened with a special light. The procedure is usually completed with anesthesia and generally doesn’t involve removing the tooth enamel.

Bonding is best for smaller changes, like closing spaces between teeth, making teeth look longer, or changing their shape. It’s also a good choice for improving the appearance of discolored teeth. With good oral health habits, gentle chewing, and regular dental visits, bonding can last for five to 10 years.

Cracked Tooth Repair

There’s no hiding a cracked or chipped tooth. From accidents and trauma to tooth grinding and major dental procedures, there are a number of ways to crack a tooth. Aside from just plain looking bad, a cracked tooth can be painful. If not addressed, a cracked tooth can cause other problems. We can help! Our practice offers two solutions for cracked teeth: bonding and crowns.

  • Bonding: We use tooth-colored composite resin to fill in the crack and repair your tooth. The bonding will be trimmed, shaped, and polished to match your natural teeth. Bonding is a better choice for small cracks or teeth in a low-bite pressure area, such as your front teeth. This procedure is generally performed without anesthesia and the results can last for up to 10 years.
  • Crowns: We permanently attach a custom-made crown to your tooth using dental cement. The crowns are usually made of porcelain, porcelain that has been fused to metal or gold. In some cases, your crown can be made right in our office! Crowns are the better choice for extensive or serious cracks, as they’ll cover the damaged tooth and prevent the crack from worsening.
