CEREC^®

Unlike traditional dental crowns, CEREC restorations can be completed in one appointment. CEREC uses digital technology known as CAD/CAM (computer assisted design/computer assisted manufacture) to make full crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers. Dr. Robertson will design your crown on the computer while you watch, rather than using a dental lab. Your crown will then be crafted from a high strength dental porcelain in a matter of minutes with the CEREC milling unit. From tooth preparation, to design, to placement, the process takes about two hours.

Picasso+ Diode Laser

The high-power of the Picasso+ Diode Laser allows our team to assist with a full range of soft-tissue and periodontal procedures. Often times, pain and extended recovery times are a common concern we hear from patients. However, the Picasso+ Diode Laser can reduce bleeding, tooth loss, tissue damage, and receding gums as it offers a preventative solution to these problems by removing harmful bacteria and periodontal disease which reduces the need for stiches or local anesthetic. From teeth whitening, to gingivectomies, and frenectomies, our practice can assist with most any procedure you need.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays, which are being adopted by much of the dental industry, have been designed specifically with you in mind. Thanks to specialized imaging software, these x-rays use 80% less radiation while also providing the dentist with a more accurate look at your mouth. The image is displayed on a computer monitor rather than being developed on a small X-ray film. The larger image is much easier to use in patient education and diagnosis. We also offer digital panoramic imaging, which helps us take a closer look at your whole mouth. The panorex rotates around you to capture an image of all of your teeth and their roots, your jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and sinuses. It’s capable of identifying a number of structural or developmental problems, and it’s especially helpful in evaluating wisdom teeth and impactions. In addition to digital x-rays, we use a laser assisted CariVU device to detect cavities before they can be seen on an x-ray.

High Tech Handpieces

Handpieces are the workhorse of the dental practice. We use them for almost every procedure to shape teeth, remove decay and polish restorations. Newly designed handpieces are quieter and run more smoothly at ultra high speeds. All of these innovations make each procedure more comfortable and more efficient for our patients.They can also withstand the heat of sterilization procedures without breaking down.

Intraoral Camera

The intraoral camera helps us get a closer look at parts of your mouth that we could not see otherwise. With the intraoral camera’s monitor, we’re able to see your teeth from different angles and magnifications to diagnose issues that might have gone undetected before. The images may also be helpful in gaining procedure approval from your insurance company. They’re also a great way for Dr Robertson to show you what is going on in your mouth. Patient education is a big part of what we do and these cameras prove that a picture is worth a thousand words!
